With a three inch (80mm) body lift, I did not cut or remove anything. You can fit 265/75 R16 tires with no problem.
For the novice, the body lift is the easiest and cheapest way to fit larger tires. If you lift using new springs and raising torsion bars, you start changing the geometry of the suspension. Then you need to change many other suspension parts if you want the car to be stable while driving on the road.
