      凌志LS400型轿车是日本丰田公司推出的“极品”豪华轿车，作为亚洲车系的一个杰出车种，已造就了一个完美的品牌，丰田公司本着满足用户的最大要求和自身水无止境的完美追求，其卓越的性能已成为当代高科技的结晶。
      凌志LS400型轿车自问世以来使一直在不断改进、不断完善，特别是发动机和变速器于1998年又作了重大的改进。丰田公司多年来所研制的VVT—i智能可变气门正时控制系统在LS400车上已实施装车，并且配用了5挡电控自动变速器，使凌志LS400型轿车的性能更加卓绝，堪称一流。

设计于1989年，修订于1995年，并于1997年的升级，包括升VVT -I（可变正时气门）

使用1UZ发动机的车型：

    1UZ-FE型发动机为V型8缸，夹角90度，每缸4气门，DOHC双顶置凸轮轴机构，气缸排量为4L。该发动机是电子控制汽油喷射式、技术水平很高的发动机。发动机采用丰田EFI电子汽油喷射技术，由ECU电子控制单元即电脑，对发动机的各个系统进行集中控制。汽油喷射系统采用L型EFI控制方式。进气系统安装使用卡尔曼涡流式空气流量计，这种流量计检测精度高、响应速度快。发动机采用耐热铝合金活塞，活塞销采用全浮式，发动机缸体及缸盖均由铝合金制成，点火顺序为1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2，燃烧室为屋脊型，火花塞位于燃烧室中央。曲轴为锻造的，有8块平衡块，曲轴由5个轴承座支承，轴承由铜铅合金制成。与丰田的其他发动机相比，做工及装配都比其他发动机好，最早1UZ是设计使用在赛车上的机器,必竟是丰田公司用来打品牌的机器，国外随便改装一下就可以超过600P的动力，改装空间很广！

改装的难点:

      1.发动机与手动变速箱的对接,由于1UZ自出厂以来,全部为自动,从来没有生产过手动档,我们把他改装到越野车上,并改成手动方式,这样就带来了对接的难题,目前1UZ对接的变速箱主要有以下几款:
       3VZ
       5VZ
       1P
        6缸切的变速箱
       LC80手动变速箱
       Y60手动变速箱
       V31、V32变速箱
       V33手动变速箱
       V26、V46、V43、V45、V73手动变速箱
       丰田RA6F系列手动6前速变速箱      


      2.手动档飞轮、压板离合器片
      对接丰田3VZ、5VZ、1P、六缸切变速箱目前使用直径250MM的离合器片及压板(与丰田3400通用)，2UZ-FE（4700）对接Y60、Y61及丰田LC80使用300mm直径离合器压板及离合器片，1UZ-FE、3UZ-FE对接Y60、Y61、FZJ80使用275mm直径飞轮、压板离合器片，三菱V31、V32、V33、V25、V26、V43、V45、V73使用250mm直径的离合器片及压板。
      同时，为了配合国内竞技的需求，定制了250mm规格铜基片；配套3VZ、5VZ变速箱，使用275mm直径飞轮、压板、离合器片。

      3.水箱及风扇使用方式
      对于切诺基的改装，1UZ原装的水箱已不能使用，因为，原装的水箱与切诺基的大梁宽度差不多，加之切的方向机在大梁内侧，安装原装的1UZ水箱已成为不可能，小切的原车水箱容量太小（小切经常水温高），必须使用加大水箱，同时水口位置为上左下右。风扇散热有以下几种方式：
     电子扇，这也是最好改的，电子扇安装在加大水箱上，在上水客位置安装水温热敏开关，通过继电器控制电子扇工作；
     液压扇，通过发动机的液压泵来给液压扇工作来给水箱散热，安装时要将水箱前移，并增加控制电路；
     机械扇，改装到切诺基上没有空间，只有方向机在大梁外侧的可以安装。


      4.机滤座
      改到切诺基上机滤座必须进行改装，否则会碰到前悬挂的推力杆，目前已开发转换角度的机滤座和外置式分体机滤座，在目前市售机滤座的基础上进行改进，内部孔径11.5改为为13mm，加大机油的流量，以适应V8机器的需求。

      5.排气岐管
      改装到切诺基上必须对两侧排气岐管进行改装，否则左侧会碰到转向杆，右侧对安装发动机支架有影响，近期又对排气岐管进行改进，增加隔热装置。


     6、1UZ的线路
      目前动力表现不佳的机头，绝大部分都是因为电路接线不完全正确引起的，主电源、怠速马达电路、燃油泵控制电路以及油压控制等。
